A one-of-one original painting by Tas Danazoglou, drawing from traditional Japanese imagery and the fierce visual language of irezumi. Coiling snakes move through fire, crashing water and a blood-red sun, surrounding a powerful central face that feels caught somewhere between guardian, demon and deity.

The piece is built around opposing forces - fire and water, destruction and protection, chaos and control - with the snakes bringing ideas of transformation, rebirth and the shedding of an old skin.

Bold, intricate and slightly menacing, FUDŌ: FACE OF FIRE is the kind of piece that reveals more the longer you look at it.
