CLOSE THE GATES

Original artwork by Dourakos
In support of Metal For Nepal

A riot of protection, temptation and controlled chaos, Close the Gates places a fierce blue guardian at the centre of a world alive with fire, demons, blades, serpents and ritual symbolism.

Rendered in Dourakos’ bold, tattoo-influenced style, the piece draws from Eastern religious and folkloric imagery while twisting it through a contemporary, rebellious lens. The guardian sits immovable amid the madness - sword raised, flames burning behind him - while mischievous figures crowd the edges offering vice, distraction and disorder.

There’s humour buried inside the menace, but beneath it sits a heavier idea: what we choose to let through, and what we finally decide to shut out.

This is a one-of-one original artwork, created as part of our fundraiser for Metal For Nepal. 50% of the sale price will be donated directly to the charity, helping support their work in Nepal.
